Save Your Legs is an Aussie larrikin comedy about a hopeless local cricket club who get sponsored to tour through India. It stars Stephen Curry and Brendan Cowell and was also written by Cowell. Aside from a few cultural jokes and a fart gag there is little going for it. The team have played together for 20 years and Curry is the captain who can't let go of his youth. While the rest of the team are ageing and moving on with their lives, Curry's character seems lost with noting palpable in sight. There's enough material to work with but director Boyd Hicklin can't seem to tap into it. The serious moments are stagnant and feel like they're clutching for breath, begging for a comical moment and the performances are lazy. Save Your Legs gives the impression that it was made as an excuse to visit India. Filmed on location the landscape isn't even taken advantage of and the Aussies come across as a miserable pack of ockers. Very average stuff.
